"Philosopher" Moominpappa Finnsheep wool mittens

Moominpappa's reflections often deepen over a glass of wine. This excerpt from Tove Jansson's wonderful comics beautifully illustrates his more serious side.

The yarn for this gorgeous special edition was spun at the Pirtti spinning mill near Mikkeli, the mittens were knitted in Tampere, and the reflective prints were added in Helsinki. The material is Finnish sheep's wool and recycled merino wool, making it extremely warm and soft.

The size is a fair bit larger than our usual mittens, because the mittens shrink as they become more felted. The felted knit is as well very wind-resistant. The mittens also become more soft as you wear them.

The color is more of a dark gray due to the material.
